The Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Older Peoples Community Mental Health Service is seeking an experienced and passionate Clinical Nurse Consultant to step into a pivotal leadership role within our Older Person’s Mental Health team. This is a chance to bring your clinical expertise, empathy, and insight to guide a diverse, multidisciplinary team in delivering care that is person-centred, evidence-informed, and grounded in recovery principles.

What You'll Be Doing
As a Clinical Nurse Consultant, you will provide leadership, mentorship and supervision, to ensure the delivery of evidence‑based, strengths focused, recovery orientated assessment and treatment within a multi‑disciplinary team and carry a clinical caseload, appropriate to the needs of the service.
People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.
Candidates Will Need To Meet The Following Criteria
- Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (APRHA) and a minimum of 5 years post registration experience in a mental health and/or aged care speciality. In addition, the applicant must have an approved post graduate tertiary qualification within the speciality of aged care and/or mental health drug and alcohol or such other qualifications or experience deemed appropriate. Hold a current NSW Driver’s licence.
- Demonstrated clinical expertise and leadership in management of older people with complex mental health issues and psychiatric disorders and associated behaviours.
- Demonstrated ability to initiate and lead evidence‑based nursing clinical practice through the development and implementation of educational programs.
- Demonstrated advanced knowledge and skills in the use of computerised information systems.
