2027 Engineering Apprentice Programme
Full‐time apprenticeships commencing January 2027.
Role
Apprentices receive structured training, mentoring and exposure to a range of engineering tasks across the Avionics, Mechanical and Structures trade streams.
* Avionics Apprentice – maintain, inspect and diagnose fault issues on electrical, instrument and radio systems including power generation, distribution, ignition, engine monitoring, autopilot, flight systems, environmental control, radar, communications and in‐flight entertainment.
* Mechanical Apprentice – maintain, inspect and diagnose fault issues on airframe, engine systems and mechanical components including undercarriage, wheels and brakes, pressurisation, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, flight control, engine control and environmental systems.
* Structures Apprentice – maintain, inspect and modify repair of aircraft metal structures; work with composite structures such as fiberglass, carbon fibre, Kevlar, bonded metal and fibre.
Requirements
* Year 10/12 School Certificate (Year 12 preferred).
* Ability to commence full‐time employment in Melbourne or Sydney in January 2027.
* Curiosity and interest in aviation; genuine willingness to learn.
* Ready to work a rotating roster across a 24/7 shift pattern, including night shift.
* Permanent Resident or Australian/NZ citizen at application.
* Valid driver's licence by commencement.
