StarKids Salon Spa is a fast-growing, family-focused salon brand located in Melton, Victoria. We are committed to delivering high-quality hair, braids, styling and salon experiences in a professional, welcoming and customer-focused environment. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a passionate, commercially minded and hands-on Salon Manager / Senior Hairdresser to join our team.
This role is ideal for someone who is not only technically strong in hairdressing, but also understands salon operations, team performance, customer experience and business growth. You will play a key role in driving salon standards, improving team productivity, increasing sales performance and ensuring every client receives an exceptional experience.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Consulting with clients to recommend suitable cuts, colours, treatments and styling services
* Performing high-quality hair cutting, colouring, blow waves, styling and treatments
* Supporting walk-in services including braids, styling and spa experiences where required
* Managing daily salon operations and ensuring smooth workflow across appointments and team members
* Driving team performance, productivity and customer satisfaction outcomes
* Supporting salon sales targets through service upgrades, retail recommendations and cross-selling opportunities
* Monitoring KPIs including rebooking rates, client retention, retail sales, service timing and daily revenue targets
* Ensuring efficient appointment management and minimising downtime within the salon
* Training, mentoring and supporting junior staff to improve technical and customer service skills
* Maintaining high standards of salon presentation, hygiene, cleanliness and professionalism at all times
* Monitoring stock levels, ordering requirements and product usage efficiency
* Managing client concerns professionally and ensuring positive customer outcomes
* Assisting with social media content, promotions and local business growth initiatives where required
* Representing the StarKids brand professionally and contributing positively to team culture and business growth
Qualifications and skills required:
* Certificate III in Hairdressing or equivalent qualification
* Minimum 2 years relevant salon experience (senior experience preferred)
* Strong cutting, colouring, styling and consultation skills
* Experience managing salon workflow, customer service and team coordination
* Commercial mindset with understanding of salon sales and performance targets
* Strong communication, leadership and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
* Positive attitude, initiative and willingness to contribute to business growth
