The Cessnock Pharmacotherapy team provide assessment, treatment, and support to individuals with opioid use disorder.

We are a small, supportive team with regular staff rounding, access to clinical supervision and education, and opportunities to pick up extra shifts, including weekends, who also enjoy celebrating birthdays and special occasions.

What you'll be doing:

Using innovative, evidence-based skills and interventions, you will professionally support individuals seeking assistance with alcohol and drug use. You will take a trauma-informed approach and provide respectful, person-centred care, tailored to each individual's needs. Central to your role will be employing an individualised, holistic approach to care, incorporating comprehensive care planning to address the diverse physical, emotional, and social aspects of each person's journey.

A nursing role in the alcohol and other drugs sector offers mentally stimulating work and provides a high level of autonomy and empowerment. You'll work within a collaborative team that enables a culture of support.

Your contribution as a healthcare professional will have a meaningful and positive impact, which is felt at a community level.

Orientation and training will be provided, with Drug and Alcohol Clinical Services (DACS) staff supported through clinical supervision, regular education, and guidance from the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM), Clinical Psychologist Services (CPS) team, DACS Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE), and the wider DACS teams.

Criteria:

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

* Current Registered Nurse with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
* Demonstrated effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills and proven problem-solving ability within a clinical setting.
