The role ensures the efficient delivery of teaching activities in full compliance with Health & Safety and other relevant regulatory requirements. Key duties include the preparation, setup, and pack-down of laboratory equipment for classes, along with managing ad hoc scheduling requests and ensuring the accurate coordination of timetabled activities. The position also involves inducting staff into laboratory procedures, supporting teaching staff in the use of equipment, monitoring stock levels, and coordinating the ordering of equipment and consumables. This role supports the undergraduate laboratory practical classes and therefore the successful applicant will need to be available to work 7 hrs 15 mins, between the hours of 7.30am and 7.30pm. This will be rostered on a rotational basis. Skills and Experience To be considered for this position, you will have A Degree with subsequent relevant experience to consolidate the theories and principles learned, or extensive experience, leading to either the development of specialist expertise or to the development of broad knowledge, in technical or administrative fields, or an equivalent alternate combination of relevant knowledge, training and/or experience. Demonstrated depth or breadth of expertise developed through extensive relevant experience and application. Demonstrated ability to gain a conceptual understanding of relevant policies, procedures or systems and interpretation in the application of policy and/or precedent. Ability to innovate and take responsibility for outcomes. Demonstrated ability to set priorities and monitor workflows within own area of responsibility. Strong knowledge and practical experience working in Sport & Exercise Science based laboratories. Skilled in safely using and maintaining relevant equipment, with a solid understanding of key techniques and procedures used to support accurate and realistic teaching environments. Skilled in preparing laboratory spaces for practical classes, including layout design, equipment setup, and alignment with curriculum requirements. Attention to housekeeping and area cleanliness would also be considered essential in the shared laboratory spaces. Demonstrated knowledge of current OHS legislation, regulations and standards, and relevant experience in Highly organised and adaptable, with a proven ability to prioritise tasks and make sound decisions in fast-paced environments without supervision.
