Overview
Maitland City Council offers a full‐time role for a Manager Rates and Revenue to join the Finance team in Maitland, New South Wales.
As the Council undergoes organisational transformation, this position will lead the administration of rating, accounts receivable and debt management functions, overseeing day‐to‐day operations and collaborating with the Finance leadership team to deliver outcomes aligned to the Operational Plan.
The role requires ensuring compliance with legislative, regulatory and policy requirements for rates calculation and levy, preparing forecasts, developing annual rating scenarios and supporting the development of the Operational Plan.
Leadership responsibilities include coaching and guiding a high‐performing team, championing Guiding Principles, and contributing to a positive organisational culture.
Responsibilities
Lead and manage the council's rating, accounts receivable and debt management functions.
Oversee day‐to‐day operations and work collaboratively with the Finance leadership team.
Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations regarding rates and charges.
Prepare forecasts and annual rating scenarios to support the Operational Plan.
Coach, mentor and develop team members to achieve high performance.
Qualifications
* Tertiary qualified in commerce, business or a related discipline.
* Extensive experience in profession‐specific training or education.
* Expertise in analysing and managing large volumes of data, and use of contemporary financial systems.
* Strong ability to lead, develop and manage high‐performing teams.
* High level interpersonal and communication skills with professional ethics, and ability to manage sensitive financial matters.
