Chef – DA-YOED Bhutanese Bites
Fremantle, WA | Hospitality & Tourism – Chefs/Cooks | Full Time | AUD $77,000 – $80,000 per annum + superannuation
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Chef to join the team at DA-YOED Bhutanese Bites, located in Fremantle, Western Australia. This is a full-time, ongoing position for a qualified professional with experience in preparing authentic Bhutanese cuisine in a commercial kitchen environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality food, maintaining kitchen standards, and supporting daily restaurant operations in a busy hospitality environment. This role requires long-term commitment to the restaurant's operations and standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare, cook, and present authentic Bhutanese dishes to a consistently high standard
* Ensure all food is prepared and presented according to restaurant recipes and quality standards
* Assist in planning and developing menu items, including seasonal specials
* Maintain consistency in taste, portioning, and presentation
* Manage daily kitchen operations including food preparation and service
* Oversee stock control, ordering, and cost management
* Minimize food wastage and maintain efficient kitchen operations
* Maintain compliance with food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety regulations
* Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment
* Supervise and support junior kitchen staff where required
* Work collaboratively with front-of-house and kitchen team members to ensure smooth service
Skills and Experience Required
* Minimum 2 years' experience working as a Chef in a commercial kitchen
* Experience in Bhutanese or Asian cuisine is highly desirable
* Strong knowledge of kitchen operations and food safety standards
* Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced hospitality environment
* Strong knife skills, food preparation, and plating techniques
* Good communication and teamwork skills
* Ability to take direction and also work independently when required
Qualifications
* Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification preferred (or demonstrated equivalent experience as a Chef)
Work Conditions
* Full-time, ongoing position
* Must be available to work weekdays, weekends, evenings, and public holidays as required by business operations
