This exciting opportunity presents a unique chance for a talented individual to take on the position of Transitional Nurse Practitioner in a Drug and Alcohol Service within the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District.

The role is temporary, spanning 3 years, and aims to develop high-level clinical expertise. During this period, you will work towards achieving endorsed Nurse Practitioner qualification while supporting the D&A Service.

Key responsibilities include:
\

1. Conducting focused assessments and managing clients using advanced knowledge and skills, which may involve ordering diagnostic investigations, prescribing medications, and referring clients directly to other healthcare professionals.
\
2. Providing leadership that fosters ongoing development of clinical practice, education programs, clinical services planning, and standards.
\
3. Servicing as an integral member of the team, working closely with the Manager of Nursing Services, Nurse Manager, Nurse Unit Managers, and Medical Director to provide exceptional care.
\
4. Advancing tertiary qualifications at a Master's degree level or progressing towards same.
\
5. Posessing a valid NSW Driver's Licence.
\
6. Acquiring post-graduate qualifications in drug and alcohol nursing or extensive experience in drug and alcohol services.
