The Opportunity
In a world where data drives decisions, we’re looking for a visionary Data Governance Lead to guide City through an exciting transformation. As we implement a modern Enterprise Data Platform (EDP), you’ll establish and embed governance frameworks that ensure data integrity, compliance, and stewardship across all departments. Your work will influence strategic initiatives and operational excellence, making a lasting impact.
What you’ll do
- Lead the development and implementation of data governance practices from the ground up.
- Ensure data is accurate, secure, and compliant with regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the organisation to embed governance principles.
- Drive adoption of tools like Microsoft Purview and other leading platforms.
- Manage enterprise data stewardship programs and governance committees.
- Oversee partner data sharing and ensure compliance through Microsoft Purview.
- Implement metadata management, data dictionaries, and cataloging tools.
- Support security and privacy compliance across APAC, including access controls and audits.
- Deliver training and workshops to promote data literacy.
What we’re looking for
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field.
- 10+ years’ experience in data governance or data management roles.
- Strong knowledge of governance frameworks, compliance standards, and data lifecycle.
- Excellent communication skills to engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience with Microsoft Purview or similar tools (Collibra, Informatica Axon, Alation).
- Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, and Agile practices.
- Certifications such as CDMP or DGCP.
- Full Australian working rights.
