This is not a standard legal role.
You will lead DCLS's social security practice and deliver a national pilot service. You will work on real issues. Centrelink decisions. Debts. Appeals. You will help people who are under pressure and often out of options.
You will also shape how this service works across Australia.
About DCLS
DCLS is a free, multidisciplinary legal and advocacy service working across the Northern Territory.
We provide legal help, advocacy, and education to support people to understand and exercise their rights. Our work spans tenancy, disability rights, seniors' rights, and general legal services.
What You Will Do
* Lead our social security legal practice
* Deliver advice through a national phone service (NSSATS)
* Run casework, including complex matters and appeals
* Identify patterns and push for system change
* Support and mentor other solicitors
* Contribute to law reform and advocacy
* Deliver practical legal education in the community

Desirable
o Experience with Centrelink decisions and appeals
o Experience in a community legal centre
