* Be responsible for a team of Regional Relief and Recovery staff based in a geographical area to lead regional preparedness for relief and recovery
* Fixed Term – up to 4 months, Part‐Time (0.5 FTE – Days flexible)
* VPS Grade 6: $142,790 - $191,084 plus superannuation.
About the Role
The Regional Relief and Recovery Manager leads a team of Regional Relief and Recovery staff who plan and coordinate EMV's relief and recovery response to emergency events across Victoria.
Key responsibilities:
* Represent EMV at regional and municipal planning meetings, lead emergency relief and recovery planning and operations as directed by the Director, Regional Relief and Recovery.
* Maintain business continuity, readiness, training, and occupational health, safety and wellbeing for the regional teams.
* Coordinate relief and recovery during and after an emergency, working outside of normal business hours on operational rosters and standby arrangements.
* Adapt, delegate and, when required, escalade actions to higher levels as situations demand.
About You
* Demonstrated knowledge of relevant government legislation.
* Demonstrated knowledge of Victoria's emergency management arrangements.
* Experience of emergency management activities with regional and local government engagement.
* Strong emergency management, operational relief and/or recovery experience, and coordination skills.
* Well‐developed capacity to engage with community at all levels and build trusted relationships.
* Understanding of policy and strategy and ability to contribute to their development.
* Experience in both field and office environments.
* Exceptional relationship management capability for liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications / Requirements
* A full Victorian driver's licence is required due to the need to travel across the state on short notice.
* Relevant qualifications or experience in disaster relief and/or recovery, policy, emergency management or management is highly desirable.
* A strong understanding of the processes and levers that apply to government is desirable.
* Ability to work flexible hours, including outside normal business hours, as required.
