Salary: Child Safety Qualified Stream Level 3, $130,000 - $142,480 pa pro rata + Super (DOC) CPCSA 2024

Work Type: Permanent – Part Time, Permanent – Full Time, Fixed Term – Full Time, Fixed Term – Part Time

The Department of Communities brings together the services and functions of disability services, child protection and family support, community initiatives and regional services reform.

The Opportunity

The South Metropolitan Region comprises five Child Protection Districts—Cannington, Armadale, Fremantle, Rockingham and Mandurah (Bindjareb). This recruitment process will establish a pool of suitable candidates to fill vacancies across these locations. Only applicants who are willing to work in these locations should apply.

Responsibilities
* Leading and managing a District team delivering child protection services under the Children and Community Services Act 2004, ensuring children's safety and wellbeing.
* Supervising and supporting case workers in complex child protection work, including intervention decisions and case management for families and children in care.
* Chairing planning forums and contributing to complex case work and broader District planning alongside the District Director.
* Allocating resources, managing workloads, and maintaining team capability through supervision, collaboration and staff development.
* Monitoring and reporting on team performance, ensuring quality assurance of case documentation and compliance with reporting requirements.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology or a relevant human services area.
* All overseas qualifications must be assessed for Australian equivalency.
