Job Details

The Department of the Treasury seeks a
Junior SharePoint Administrator
to support operational management of the department's SharePoint Online (SPO) environment.

The role will ensure governance compliance, deliver timely resolution of user tickets, and contribute to improving the department's
Digital Workspaces platform
.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

BAU Ticket Management

* Action and resolve incoming SPO-related incidents and service requests within agreed SLAs.
* Escalate complex issues to senior administrators or vendors as required.

Permissions & Access Control

* Manage SharePoint permissions including site, library, and list-level access in line with SOPs.
* Implement and maintain SharePoint and 365 groups per defined governance standards.

Configuration & Site Management

* Create, configure, and maintain SharePoint Online sites, document libraries, and lists.
* Apply and enforce Treasury's Information Architecture (IA) standards, including global term store and column configuration.

Compliance & Remediation

* Identify and remediate non-compliant sites, libraries, and content.
* Support periodic audits and reporting on configuration compliance.

Continuous Improvement

* Assist in implementing enhancements such as global navigation, hub site configuration, and template deployment.
* Contribute to SOP updates, knowledge articles, and user guidance materials.

Other Duties as Directed

* Participate in team stand-ups, backlog reviews, and planning sessions.

Core Skills and Knowledge

* SharePoint Online Fundamentals
– configuration and administration of SPO components
* Microsoft 365 Ecosystem
– familiarity with Teams, OneDrive, and Entra ID (Azure AD)
* Troubleshooting
– diagnosing and resolving SharePoint Online issues
* Communication
– clear communication with end users and technical teams
* ITSM Tools
– experience with enterprise ticketing and incident management platforms

About the Team

The
Digital Workspaces Team
within Treasury's Information Services Branch manages SharePoint Online, the Power Platform, and related technologies.

The team comprises three members, including an EL1 Team Lead and an EL1 Technical Lead, delivering platform governance, administration, and development.

This role supports business-as-usual (BAU) activities, ensuring service continuity as APS staff work on priority initiatives.

Essential Criteria

1. Demonstrated experience in SharePoint Online administration, including permissions management, site configuration, and Global Term Store management.
2. Demonstrated familiarity with the Microsoft 365 ecosystem (Teams, OneDrive, Power Platform desirable).
3. Understanding of governance, compliance, and information architecture principles.
4. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently under minimal supervision.
5. Excellent communication skills for engaging with business users and technical teams.

Desirable Criteria

1. Demonstrated ability to design, code, verify, test, and document simple programs/scripts.
2. Experience applying agreed standards and tools to achieve well-engineered outcomes.
3. Experience with PowerShell PNP module.
4. Capability to obtain, or evidence of active NV1 clearance (required to access PROTECTED information).
