Role Overview
Residential Care Worker supports young people aged 12–17 in care placements. Provides around-the-clock care, builds relationships, follows routines, transports to appointments, completes activities and notes, and creates a safe and homely environment.
Responsibilities
* Build positive relationships with young people and team members.
* Follow a routine developed for each young person's needs.
* Transport youth to/from school, day programs and appointments.
* Complete activities and enjoy mealtimes together.
* Assist in implementation of growth and development programs.
* Complete summary notes.
* Create a safe and homely environment for them to live in and enjoy.
Essential Criteria
* Current Working with Children Check (for paid employment)
* Current First Aid Certificate (Course Code HLTAID003)
* National Police Check
* International Police Check for applicants who have lived continuously for 12 months or more in another country within the last 10 years.
* Current driver's licence
* Willingness to participate in a Worker/Carer Exclusion Scheme Check
* Current NDIS Worker Check
Mandatory Qualifications
* Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention, or a recognised relevant qualification.
* Mandatory competency units: CHCMHS007 – Work effectively in trauma informed care; CHCPRT009 – Provide primary residential care; CHCCCS009 – Facilitate responsible behaviour.
