Senior Data Management Officer

Details: The Data, Projects and Improvement Branch partners with City and Environment Directorate (CED) business units to provide rich data insights that uplift our services to the ACT community, target regulatory action and make a more efficient, effective directorate. The Senior Data Management Officer is responsible for ingesting and transforming data into our warehouse, supercharging the work of reporting experts within the branch and beyond.
Working in a fast‐paced and dynamic environment, the Senior Data Management Officer will work closely with the Director, Assistant Director and colleagues across the branch to extract, transform and load data from diverse business systems ranging from Salesforce platforms to Software-as-a-Service applications. The role also involves engaging with database administrators to optimise and monitor the CED data environment.
The successful applicant will bring strong analytical and communication skills, demonstrate sound judgement, and be able to manage competing priorities while delivering high‐quality outcomes. Experience in SQL, Python, building workbenches in FME and using AI to support problem solving and query optimisation is essential for this role. The role does not involve the direct supervision of staff but does require a demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively and operate with a high level of autonomy.

Eligibility/Other requirements: Australian Government Baseline security clearance or the ability to attain this clearance is required.
Highly desirable:
* Certified FME Advanced or Professional certification
* MS SQL certification.
Note: This position is located in a hybrid workplace designated for Activity Based Working (ABW) combined with working remotely from home.
