About the role
As the Supervisor Laboratory at Ernest Henry, you will play a critical role in coordinating laboratory operations to support safe, reliable and high‐quality metallurgical performance across site. Reporting to the Metallurgy Superintendent, you will lead a team of Laboratory Technicians, ensuring the delivery of accurate and timely analytical services that are essential to plant performance and production outcomes.
You will combine strong technical capability with hands‐on leadership, driving quality, safety and continuous improvement across laboratory activities while maintaining high operational standards.
Key responsibilities
* Leading with safety and ensuring compliance with site standards
* Supervising and coordinating laboratory personnel
* Overseeing sampling, preparation and analytical testing
* Ensuring QA/QC and data integrity
* Supporting metallurgical performance and plant outcomes
* Maintaining and troubleshooting laboratory equipment
* Coordinating training and competency of team members
* Providing performance feedback and direction
* Supporting incident investigations
* Maintaining housekeeping, consumables and sample control
About you
You are an experienced laboratory professional with strong leadership capability and a passion for safety, quality and continuous improvement. You bring a hands‐on approach, enjoy leading and developing teams, and are comfortable working in an operational environment.
Qualifications and experience
* Certificate IV or higher in Laboratory Techniques or similar
* Previous supervisory experience – preferred mining or processing
* Strong QA/QC understanding
* Experience with laboratory instrumentation
* Proficiency with LIMS and Microsoft Office
* Current driver's licence
* Attention to detail and problem‐solving skills

Roster
This roster is 8/6 and a 12‐hour day. You can choose an attractive flyin/flyout (FIFO) roster from Brisbane, Townsville or Cairns, or a drive‐in/drive‐out (DIDO) roster, take advantage of our top‐class camp, or live local in the close‐knit community of Cloncurry and be home every night.
