Overview

At Moriah College, we are committed to nurturing the academic, emotional, social and spiritual wellbeing of every student within a caring and inclusive Jewish educational environment. The Clinical Psychologist will play a vital role in supporting students requiring targeted social, emotional and mental health support, enabling them to thrive both personally and academically. Working collaboratively with the Student Life team, educators, families and external professionals, the Clinical Psychologist will contribute to a proactive, preventative and student-centred model of wellbeing care aligned with the values and ethos of the College. Through evidence-informed practice, the role will support students to strengthen emotional regulation, school connectedness and engagement in learning. The Clinical Psychologist will help foster a safe, supportive and structured environment where students feel known, valued and empowered to achieve positive wellbeing and learning outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
* Student Clinical Support: Conduct psychological assessments and develop evidence-informed intervention and support plans for students requiring additional wellbeing support.
* Student Clinical Support: Provide short-term individual therapeutic intervention and counselling using developmentally appropriate and strengths-based approaches.
* Student Clinical Support: Facilitate small-group wellbeing and resilience programs where appropriate.
* Student Clinical Support: Support students presenting with anxiety, emotional dysregulation, school avoidance, social challenges, grief, behavioral concerns and other mental health needs.
* Student Clinical Support: Develop practical strategies to support student engagement, participation, emotional wellbeing and learning success.
* Student Clinical Support: Contribute to student safety planning, wellbeing monitoring and risk assessment processes where required.
* Student Clinical Support: Maintain accurate case notes, records and documentation in accordance with professional, ethical and legal standards.
* Student Clinical Support: Support a culture of inclusion and belonging that reflects the values and community ethos of Moriah College.
Collaborative Practice
* Work collaboratively with the Head of Student Life, Counselling Team, Heads of Year, Heads of Stage, Mentors and teaching staff to support student wellbeing needs.
* Build positive and respectful partnerships with parents and carers regarding student support plans and wellbeing strategies.
* Liaise with external providers, agencies and allied health professionals to ensure continuity of care and effective communication.
* Participate in multidisciplinary case meetings and contribute professional recommendations to support student outcomes.
* Collaborate with staff to promote a whole-school approach to wellbeing, inclusion and student support.
Whole-School Wellbeing Support
* Contribute to the development and implementation of preventative and early intervention wellbeing initiatives across the College.
* Support evidence-based wellbeing practices that strengthen resilience, emotional literacy and student connectedness.
* Provide consultation and guidance to staff regarding student mental health, wellbeing and learning support needs.
* Assist in the development of workshops, parent education sessions and wellbeing resources for students and families.
* Contribute positively to a safe, respectful and supportive learning environment that reflects the values and ethos of the College.
Professional Responsibilities
* Adhere to the ethical and professional standards of clinical psychology practice and all relevant child protection requirements.
* Maintain registration and ongoing professional learning requirements with AHPRA.
* Engage in reflective practice and contribute positively to a collaborative and supportive professional culture.
* Demonstrate professionalism, discretion and confidentiality in all aspects of the role.
* Support and uphold the values, culture and Jewish ethos of Moriah College.
* Undertake other duties consistent with the role as directed by the Head of Student Life.
Essential Criteria
* Registration as a Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
* Clinical endorsement or eligibility for Clinical Psychology endorsement.
* Demonstrated experience working with adolescents and young people.
* Strong understanding of child and adolescent mental health presentations and evidence-based interventions.
* Experience conducting risk assessments and developing wellbeing and support plans.
* Excellent interpersonal, communication and relationship-building skills.
* Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams and a school community.
* Strong organisational, administrative and record-keeping skills.
* Current Working with Children Check.
* Commitment to supporting the values and ethos of Moriah College.
Desirable Criteria
* Experience working within a school or educational setting.
* Understanding of trauma-informed, culturally responsive and strengths-based practice.
* Experience supporting neurodiverse students and students with complex wellbeing needs.
* Familiarity with evidence-based therapeutic approaches including CBT, ACT, DBT-informed strategies and solution-focused practice.
* Experience facilitating wellbeing groups, resilience programs and parent education initiatives.
* Understanding of the wellbeing needs of children and adolescents within a diverse school community.
