Job Title: Rural Health Specialist
This is a permanent part-time position, working 32 hours per week, covering a geographically defined population across rural communities.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver Advanced Nursing Care: Provide evidence-based primary and community nursing care to patients in need.
* Care Coordination: Coordinate patient care with healthcare providers and settings to ensure timely and efficient service delivery.
* Health Promotion: Conduct health promotion activities, immunizations, and well-child services to support the health and wellbeing of patients.
* Professional Development: Lead or contribute to professional development initiatives, orientation, and clinical quality improvement projects.
* Culturally Safe Care: Provide culturally safe care in partnership with Maori Health teams and iwi.
Requirements include:
* A current Annual Practising Certificate as a NZ Registered Nurse.
* Minimum 5 years' experience, including in Emergency, Primary, and/or Community settings.
* PRIME training completed or willingness to complete.
* Independent Vaccinator or willingness to attain certification.
* Endorsement or progression toward RN Prescribing.
* A full, clean driver's licence.
Desirable qualifications include:
* A current PDRP portfolio.
* Experience with Indici.
* Experience with community consultation and rural project delivery.
* Knowledge of relevant NZ health legislation, frameworks, and strategies.
