About the role
Saunders International Limited is a leading Australian-based ASX-listed engineering, construction and industrial asset services company delivering solutions across the full asset lifecycle. Based in Sydney, Rhodes, the role focuses on delivering accurate reporting, financial insights and decision support while driving governance and continuous improvement across the Saunders Group.
Responsibilities
* Prepare and deliver timely and accurate monthly management accounts and financial reports.
* Provide financial analysis, commercial insights and recommendations to support profit centre owners and project leaders.
* Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and consolidated profit and loss reporting across multiple divisions.
* Develop and monitor project and business unit budgets, including financial modelling, cost control and cash flow forecasting.
* Support annual budgeting processes and maintain rolling forecasts.
* Assist with half-year and year-end reporting, including liaison with external auditors.
* Ensure compliance with Group policies, accounting standards and statutory requirements.
* Work collaboratively with stakeholders to maintain and improve financial systems (including Jobpac) and reporting processes.
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives across finance systems and workflows.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will bring strong technical accounting skills, commercial acumen and a proactive approach to problem-solving, along with the ability to partner effectively with stakeholders across the business.
* CPA or CA qualified accountant.
* Demonstrated experience in a similar management accounting role, ideally within engineering, construction or project-based environments.
* Strong understanding of project accounting, including budgeting, forecasting, revenue recognition, cost tracking and financial reporting.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail.
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
* Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and accounting systems (Jobpac experience highly regarded).
* A continuous improvement mindset with the ability to enhance processes and systems.
* Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
