Now, we're looking for a driven and inspiring State Sales Manager to lead the charge, elevate our automotive sales operations, and take the business to its next level of growth.
About the Role
This is a hands-on leadership role for a proven people manager who can lead from the front, inspire a diverse sales team, and deliver exceptional customer outcomes.
Managing a team of 10+ driven sales consultants and finance brokers, you'll own the end-to-end sales process, drive performance across online and in-store teams, and collaborate with multiple departments to ensure customers experience a seamless journey — from first enquiry to final handover.
You will be involved in the strategy of state, national sales and a $100m P&L, end-to-end operations and growth of the retail business (including used, luxury, aftersales and CX functions).
What You'll Drive
* Sales Leadership: Manage a growing team of high-performing sales professionals across online and onsite channels.
* Performance Management: Coach, motivate, and develop team members to consistently hit and exceed targets.
* Aftermarket Growth: Drive penetration of value-added products like finance, warranties, and protection plans.
* Customer Experience: Ensure every interaction reflects our mission of making car buying joyful and effortless.
* Operational Collaboration: Partner with Refurb, Logistics, and CX teams to streamline handovers and improve efficiency.
* Insights & Reporting: Analyse conversion data, team KPIs, and customer feedback to identify and execute improvements.
* Strategic Execution: Align sales and marketing initiatives to optimise lead quality and improve ROI.
What Success Looks Like
* Meeting and exceeding monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets
* Growing conversion rates across digital and physical channels
* Increasing penetration of finance and aftercare products
* Maintaining world-class CSAT and NPS scores
* Developing a motivated, accountable, and results-driven team
What You'll Bring
* 3–5+ years' experience in sales leadership or management, ideally in automotive, retail, startup, enterprise (high-ticket) or fast-paced consumer environments
* Proven success in meeting and exceeding sales targets
* Strong communication, coaching, and team-building skills
* Analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable results
* Customer-first mentality and high EQ to handle both people and performance conversations
* Ability to work Saturday (must)— that's when the magic happens!
