Responsibilities
- Maintain, service and repair the Wickham Freight Lines’ fleet in a reliable and roadworthy condition.
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs with the intention of reducing the occurrence of breakdowns.
- Complete all required documentation relating to NHVAS procedures in a timely and accurate manner.
- Detecting and diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults.
- Diagnosing and testing parts with the assistance of computers.
- May respond to vehicle breakdown service calls.
- Create an efficient workshop by working within a team environment and to certain deadlines.
- Assist in training apprentices by working closely with them and explaining mechanical procedures.
- To be responsible for the proper care and operation of any plant, tools or machinery used within the workplace.
- Adhere to Occupational Health & Safety procedures.
- Adhere to all necessary policies and procedures of Wickham Freight Lines.
Skills & Experience
- Ability to carry out mechanical tasks with minimal supervision.
- Proven ability to meet deadlines and to make independent decisions.
- Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills. Proven ability to work within a team environment.
- Possess a driver’s licence. HR or HC desirable.
- Proven knowledge of automotive air-conditioning.
- Preferred certified Tradesperson, Heavy Vehicle Road Transport Certificate III or Diesel Fitter qualifications and experience.
Salary
$76,515 per year plus superannuation. We complete yearly performance and remuneration reviews.
