About the Role
We are seeking an experienced CMDB Administrator – Development to act as the technical authority for CMDB platform configuration, design, and evolution.
This role is responsible for the build and configuration of CMDB capabilities, including discovery integration, Identification and Reconciliation Engine (IRE) rules, CI class modelling, and onboarding of new services into the CMDB. The successful candidate will translate approved governance decisions into technical configurations and ensure the CMDB structure supports accurate, scalable, and sustainable configuration data management.
This is a highly technical role requiring strong infrastructure and service architecture knowledge, as well as experience operating within formal change and governance frameworks.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities
* Design, configure, and maintain CMDB platform structures, including CI class models and relationships
* Configure and manage discovery integration and data ingestion processes
* Develop and maintain Identification and Reconciliation Engine (IRE) rules
* Onboard new services, applications, and CI classes into the enterprise CMDB
* Implement approved CMDB governance and data model changes via formal RFC/change processes
* Translate governance and architecture decisions into enforceable technical configurations
* Define and maintain CMDB standards, structures, and technical documentation
* Provide technical leadership and guidance for CMDB design and evolution
* Collaborate with infrastructure, network, service owners, and architecture teams to ensure alignment of CMDB design with operational needs
Requirements and Experience
* 5–10 years' experience designing, configuring, and governing CMDB platforms in large enterprise environments
* Demonstrated expertise in discovery configuration, IRE rules, CI class modelling, and CMDB data structures
* Strong understanding of infrastructure and service architecture across compute, network, storage, and platform domains
* Proven experience onboarding new services and CI classes into enterprise CMDB environments
* Experience implementing CMDB design or governance changes through formal change (RFC) processes
* Ability to translate governance requirements into technical configuration and enforceable data rules
* Strong technical documentation, standards definition, and governance interpretation skills
* Experience working closely with architects, service owners, and technical governance stakeholders
* Ability to operate effectively in an on-site, collaborative technical environment
Location and Contract
* Location: Brisbane, QLD (On-site preferred)
* Contract: 6-Month Contract
