You'll play a key role in
As a Building Services Manager at SHAPE, you'll provide specialist technical leadership across the services elements of our projects, supporting teams from tender stage through to final commissioning. Working closely with Project Managers, consultants and subcontractors, you'll guide services strategy, manage procurement input and ensure integrated testing and commissioning is delivered effectively.
This role plays a critical part in ensuring services coordination, buildability and commissioning processes are delivered to the highest standard, helping our project teams mitigate risk, maintain programme certainty and achieve successful project outcomes across Brisbane's diverse project portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide technical support and services strategy guidance across project teams
* Review and qualify services components within tender submissions and design documentation
* Coordinate and negotiate subcontractor proposals, ensuring scope alignment and risk management
* Develop integrated testing and commissioning programmes across services trades
* Conduct project progress inspections and review commissioning outcomes to ensure contractual compliance
* Manage consultant coordination and acceptance testing to achieve successful services delivery and handover
What you'll bring You'll bring strong technical expertise in building services and a collaborative approach to working with project teams, consultants and subcontractors. With experience across fitout, refurbishment or construction projects, you understand how critical services coordination is to successful delivery and commissioning. You're comfortable translating complex technical information into practical guidance for project teams and stakeholders, and you take a proactive approach to identifying risks, improving processes and driving quality outcomes. Most importantly, you bring the professionalism, accountability and collaborative mindset that defines how we work at SHAPE. Key Requirements
* Trade or tertiary qualification in a construction, engineering or building services discipline
* Strong technical knowledge of services installation and management within construction projects
* Understanding of construction processes, codes, standards and contracts
* Experience delivering services coordination and commissioning on commercial fitout or construction projects
* Ideally 7+ years' experience across project delivery, bid preparation or services management
* Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical information for project teams
* A collaborative mindset and commitment to safe, high‐quality project delivery
