Job Description
Why this role matters
Our Audit & Assurance team is seeking a Senior External Auditor who combines technical excellence with a passion for client service and team development.
In this role, you'll take ownership of key audit engagements, work closely with managers and directors, and play an important role in mentoring junior team members. You'll gain exposure to a diverse client portfolio, including commercial, not-for-profit and government-related organisations, while continuing to build your technical and leadership capabilities.

What you'll do
* Lead and deliver external audit and assurance engagements in accordance with Australian Auditing Standards and applicable Accounting Standards.
* Perform, review and complete complex financial statement audit testing, analysis and technical accounting assessments.
* Identify and resolve audit and accounting issues while collaborating with senior team members.
* Prepare and review high-quality workpapers, reports and client deliverables.
* Build trusted relationships with clients and develop a strong understanding of their operations, risks and objectives.
* Support managers and directors in managing engagement timelines and delivering exceptional client outcomes.
* Mentor, coach and provide technical guidance to junior team members, supporting their professional development.
What you'll bring
* A degree in Accounting, Commerce, Business or a related discipline.
* CA or CPA qualification (or near completion).
* Demonstrated experience within external audit, ideally in a professional services environment.
* Strong technical knowledge of Australian Auditing Standards and financial reporting requirements of the Corporations Act 2001 and Australian Accounting Standards.
* Experience using CaseWare and Microsoft Office (highly regarded).
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build strong client and team relationships.
* The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
* Ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline Security Clearance due to the nature of some of our client engagements.
