Lane8 Consulting is partnering with a major Perth-based organisation to fill multiple Senior Business Systems Analyst positions within their digital products team.
These are 12-month Fixed Term Contract roles - not daily rate - offering stability, top-of-band remuneration, and 17% employer superannuation contributions (well above the standard rate, adding real long-term value to the total package).
About the role
This is a Business Systems Analyst role - not a traditional BA position. We're looking for analysts who can operate confidently across the full business-to-technical spectrum: from business process re-engineering through to system design, data integration, and application selection. If you sit comfortably in workshops with business stakeholders and working sessions with solution architects and developers, this is for you.
Reporting to a Senior Solutions Manager, you'll operate independently within a high-performing team to deliver business analysis end-to-end: requirements elicitation, user story development, MVP definition, process re-design, and testing strategy. You'll also mentor junior team members and grow the team's product and process knowledge.
What you'll be doing
* Leading end-to-end analysis for complex products requiring deep business and technical understanding
* Designing and leading workshops to elicit requirements and user stories
* Translating business needs into technical requirements, user stories, and functional specifications
* Bridging business process re-engineering with system design, data integration, and application selection
* Establishing testing strategies and plans - functional and UAT
* Choosing fit-for-purpose methods - agile or plan-driven - on a project-by-project basis
* Mentoring junior BAs and building team capability
Who this role suits
Senior practitioners (typically 7+ years' experience) with a track record across strategic product delivery, enterprise system implementations, or process-technology transformation - comfortable engaging with senior management and cross-functional leadership teams.
What we're looking for
* 7+ years' experience as a Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, or Business Systems Analyst in large, complex organisations
* Demonstrated ability to operate across both the business and technical ends of the analysis spectrum
* Strong skills in requirements analysis, elicitation, modelling, testing, and verification
* Working understanding of system architecture, integration points, and data flows
* Confidence with testing strategy, business cases, and options modelling
* Equally comfortable in agile and plan-driven environments
* Excellent written and verbal communication
* Highly developed stakeholder management skills
* Tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience
Nice to have
* Business process engineering knowledge
* ITIL certification
