What You'll Be Doing
Responsible for developing and implementing strategies to maintain the quality of coded data.
Where You'll Be Working
Liverpool Hospital, a major health service for south-western Sydney, offers a wide range of state-wide services including critical care and trauma, neonatal intensive care, and brain injury rehabilitation. As a key teaching facility for UNSW Sydney and Western Sydney University, it provides extensive clinical services, emergency care, cancer treatment, paediatrics, and mental health services. The hospital features 23 operating theatres and has a capacity for 877 beds. Ongoing $830 million redevelopment will transform the hospital into a global hub for medical innovation, expanding clinical services and research facilities.
Qualifications and Experience
Degree or Associate Diploma in Medical Records Administration, Health Information Management, or other relevant health-related qualification and/or experience.
Proven coding experience with detailed knowledge of ICD-10-AM.
Experience conducting, documenting and communicating quality improvement activities in the clinical coding area.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with proficiency in report writing and data presentation.
Excellent organisational and time-management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
Strong knowledge of casemix measurement systems and current developments in activity-based funding.
Proven experience in database management, particularly using MS Access, and proficiency in all MS Office products.
Experience with computerised patient administration systems.
