Job Description
The Facility Support Services Technician provides essential operational and technical support across GMP and non‐GMP laboratory and pilot‐scale manufacturing facilities. The role focuses on ensuring smooth operations through solution preparation, equipment support, inventory management, and general facility upkeep.
Key contributions include supporting early‐phase GMP manufacturing by preparing equipment, materials, and consumables; producing process solutions, buffers, and media; and maintaining adequate inventory levels. The role also involves routine facility support tasks such as gowning, housekeeping, and waste management to maintain a compliant, clean, and inspection‐ready environment.
Working in line with GMP, EHS, and company standards, the technician collaborates with cross‐functional teams to ensure operational continuity, compliance, and efficiency. Responsibilities are assigned progressively, with opportunities for training and skill development across different functional areas over time.
Duties will include but are not limited to:
1. CPA Support Operations
* Prepare and dispense raw materials, buffers, media, and process solutions (up to 500L) in line with GMP requirements in the Central Preparation Area (CPA)
* Operate and set up equipment (e.g., mixers, vessels, balances) and ensure readiness
* Perform solution adjustments (pH, conductivity), filtration, sampling, and testing
* Conduct equipment calibration and manage consumables (e.g., NOVA systems, filters)
* Maintain accurate documentation, labelling, and electronic records
* Ensure preparation areas are clean, organised, and inspection‐ready
2. CPS Support Operations
* Support GMP manufacturing activities within the Clinical Protein Suite (CPS)
* Prepare, kit, label, and manage consumables and equipment for production
* Coordinate equipment cleaning, sterilisation, and autoclave operations (including testing)
* Support gowning processes and manage gown/locker logistics
* Perform inventory transactions, stock checks, and material handling (SAP systems)
* Maintain housekeeping, waste management, and accurate activity records
3. Inventory Management & Laboratory Support Operations
* Manage inventory, including ordering (Ariba), goods receipt, stock levels, and cycle counts
* Monitor storage conditions, shelf life, and maintain accurate records (GDP compliance)
* Raise purchase requisitions/orders and generate labels (e.g., Bartender system)
* Forecast demand and coordinate with suppliers and stakeholders
* Support vendor onboarding and resolve supply or logistics issues
* Provide lab support (equipment washing, sterilisation, calibration, autoclave testing, waste handling)
* Assist with lab consumables management, labware cleaning, and general operational support
Qualifications
* Previous GMP experience, 2 years + (preferred)
* Laboratory Skills, Science Diploma preferred.
* Proven experience in inventory control and management, preferably in a scientific or laboratory setting
* Familiarity with inventory management software (e.g. SAP & Ariba) and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
* Good team player, organised, accurate, have strong documentation skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
* Flexible, adaptable to changing priorities
* Passionate about quality and customer service
* Good communication skills both internally and externally. Capable of collaborating with cross‐functional teams
* Ability to work independently, solve problems, and handle multiple responsibilities in a fast‐paced environment
* Competent Manual handling and ability to lift heavy goods/items (approx. 10-15kg)

Fixed term contract (approx. 12 months).
