Manager Work Health Safety & Injury Management

We're looking for an experienced and people focused Manager Work Health Safety & Injury Management to lead our WHS, injury management and wellbeing functions across a large and diverse organisation delivering aged care and community services throughout South Australia.
Reporting to the Executive Manager People and Culture, this role will shape and strengthen a proactive safety culture across the business while partnering closely with operational leaders to drive practical, sustainable, and people centred outcomes.
This is a role for someone who can think strategically, lead confidently, influence positively and still roll their sleeves up when needed.
What You'll Be Leading
You'll provide leadership across all aspects of WHS, injury management and wellbeing, including:
* Driving organisation-wide WHS and Injury Management strategies and initiatives
* Leading a specialist WHS and Injury Management team
* Supporting leaders to build safe, compliant and psychologically healthy workplaces
* Overseeing workers compensation, return to work and injury management processes
* Leading incident investigations, corrective actions and risk mitigation activities
* Monitoring WHS performance, trends, risks and compliance outcomes
* Developing and improving WHS systems, policies, audit programs and reporting frameworks
* Partnering with operational teams to embed practical safety solutions across varied environments
* Providing strategic advice and recommendations to senior leadership
* Promoting a culture of accountability, wellbeing and continuous improvement
About You
You're someone who builds credibility through relationships, sound judgement and practical leadership.
You understand how to balance operational realities with legislative obligations and know how to influence leaders in a constructive and collaborative way.
You'll bring:
* Demonstrated senior leadership experience in WHS and Injury Management
* Strong knowledge of Australian WHS legislation, workers compensation and injury management frameworks
* Experience leading compliance, audit and continuous improvement programs
* The ability to coach, influence and support leaders at all levels
* Strong analytical and reporting capability with a solutions focused mindset
* Experience working across complex, multi site environments
* Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills
* Relevant qualifications in WHS, Human Resources or a related discipline
Experience within aged care, healthcare, community services or other highly regulated environments will be highly regarded.
