Job Summary
Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist – Cheswold Park Hospital, Cheswold Lane, Doncaster, DN5 8AR
Permanent, full time (10 programmed activities per week, including on‐call). Part‐time may be considered.
Key Duties
* Lead clinical care in a 16‐bed low secure male ward (Esk ward) covering mental illness and personality disorder service lines.
* Deliver undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and training.
* Provide clinical leadership to the multi‐professional team and liaise with a wide variety of agencies.
* Manage clinical complexity, uncertainty, and ensure compliance with MHA and MCA.
* Plan and deliver case‐based discussion groups, audits, research or service evaluation projects.
* Lead continual professional development and support staff to achieve appraisal and revalidation.
* Participate in and support the development of clinical evidence, quality improvement, and continuous professional development programmes.
* Maintain a professional appearance and use electronic records efficiently.
Qualifications & Registration
* MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.
* Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of appointment.
* Included on the GMC Specialist Register for Forensic Psychiatry, or within six months of gaining.
* OR included on the GMC Specialist Register for General Psychiatry with special interest in Forensic Psychiatry, or within six months of gaining.
* Approved clinician status and S12 status, or able to achieve within three months of appointment.
* MRCPsych (desirable). Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research or management (desirable).

Skills and Knowledge
* Able to deliver undergraduate or postgraduate teaching and training.
* Ability to work in and lead a team, with a commitment to shared leadership and collaborative working.
* Strong oral and written communication skills in English.
* Knowledge and experience in specialty, with a bio‐psycho‐social perspective.
* Experience in clinical audit, quality improvement, research or service evaluation projects.
* Ability to lead and manage case‐based discussion groups.
Experience
* Excellent knowledge and experience in forensic psychiatry and related medical fields.
* Experience of managing clinical complexity and uncertainty.
* Experience in providing clinical leadership to a multi‐professional team and liaising with agencies.
* Experience with MHA and MCA duties (desirable).

Salary and Working Pattern
Salary: £123,672 – £150,569 a year.
Contract: Permanent, full‐time (flexible working).
