HSSQ Coordinator | South-West Sydney | $90-100k + super
You will be working for a leading concrete steel reinforcement supplier in Australia, delivering a diverse range of steel rebar and mesh solutions.
**About the role**
You will be reporting to the National HSSQ Manager and will be part of a collaborative team passionate about ensuring a strong Workplace Health, Safety and Environmental culture.
**Responsibilities**
- Conduct documented risk assessments and manage hazard reporting process.
- Development of safe operating procedures.
- Conduct internal audits and coordinate and participate in external audit programs.
- Ensure all incidents are reported and investigated.
- Document safety alerts and communications.
- Ensure all non-conformances and corrective actions are effectively closed within agreed timeframes.
- Coordinate the identification, traceability, and material testing processes.
- Ensure compliance with PPE policy.
- Prepare samples for mechanical testing.
- Daily DBIC testing for all off coil machines.
- Ensure inductions are successfully completed and monitor refresher.
- Conduct onsite training assessments.
- Manage initial site assessment and medical and manage injured workers RTW.
- Monitor HSSQ Management System.
- Assist the company attain and maintain external accreditation to relevant standards.
- Propose and implement emissions reduction initiatives to improve the business's environmental footprint and reduce our greenhouse gas emissions profile with a focus on energy efficiency, travel, recycling, waste management, building and facility management.
- Contribute to continuous improvement through reviewing existing systems and processes.
**Skills and experience**
- Previous experience in a WHS role within a manufacturing/construction environment or similar.
- Certificate IV or Diploma in WHS
- Awareness of relevant legislation and industry regulations
- Good communication and computer skills
- Confidence to use initiative and to make decisions where required
