About the role
The Business Partner (Employee Relations) Advisor provides practical, end‐to‐end support to leaders and managers across a broad range of employee relations matters at NSW Trustee and Guardian. Working within the People and Culture team, the role delivers employee relations services to divisions, including non‐complex workplace investigations, case management, and industrial and HR advice, to support the effective management of the employee lifecycle.
You will provide timely, evidence‐based advice on matters including performance, conduct, grievances and industrial relations, and support managers to apply policies, legislation and procedural fairness requirements. The role also contributes to workforce reporting, establishment management and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure people practices are consistent, compliant and aligned to organisational priorities.
Responsibilities
* Provide practical, evidence‐based advice to leaders and managers on performance, conduct, grievances and industrial relations matters.
* Conduct non‐complex workplace investigations and manage employee relations casework end‐to‐end.
* Prepare clear documentation, including correspondence, briefs and file notes.
* Interpret policies, legislation and industrial instruments and apply them appropriately.
* Support managers to apply procedural fairness and compliance requirements, balancing competing priorities and business needs.
* Contribute to workforce reporting, establishment management and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
* Experience managing employee relations matters such as performance, conduct and grievances.
* Strong judgement, able to assess risk and determine when escalation is required.
* Ability to apply policies, legislation and industrial instruments in a practical way.
* Experience preparing explicit, accurate documentation in a timely manner.
* Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders.
* Qualifications in Human Resources and/or demonstrated experience in employee relations, including performance, conduct and grievance management.
* Sound understanding of relevant legislation, industrial instruments and HR policies.
* Current Driver's Licence and willingness to travel as required.
