Laboratory Foreman – Fulton Hogan
Full‐time position based in Roseneath, QLD, Australia. The Laboratory Foreman is responsible for operating and managing asphalt laboratory operations at regional mobile and fixed sites, ensuring compliance with NATA, the Department of Main Roads Construction Materials Testing Supplier Registration System and all statutory health, safety and environmental requirements. The role includes supervising laboratory staff, overseeing laboratory assets and plant requirements, providing technical support to production and contracting departments, and maintaining high levels of customer and stakeholder communication.
Key Responsibilities
* Operate and manage asphalt laboratory operations at mobile and fixed sites.
* Supervise laboratory staff, oversee laboratory assets and plant requirements, and provide ongoing training.
* Ensure compliance with NATA and Department of Main Roads regulations, including annex laboratories.
* Maintain statutory health, safety and environmental compliance.
* Supervise, train and conduct compliance testing for samples of aggregate, asphalt, bitumen, polymer‐modified bitumen and emulsion.
* Ensure compliance testing and mix designs meet required specifications and timeframes.
* Maintain strong internal and external customer and stakeholder communication and relations.
Qualifications & Skills
* Experience and knowledge in construction laboratories (asphalt, aggregates and binders).
* Attained NATA signatory status for relevant test methods.
* Comprehensive knowledge of laboratory and production facility calibration requirements.
* Strong technical support skills for production and contracting departments.
* Sound knowledge of Queensland test methods and Australian laboratory standards.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Questlab.
* Commitment to collaborative, ethical behaviour in a client‐facing environment.
* Strong leadership, people, and communication skills.
* Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures and relevant legislation with a keen eye for detail.
* Demonstrated skills in research, evaluation, interpretation and delivery of data.
Working Conditions
Full‐time. May be required to work nights, weekends and occasional away days.
