Overview

Clinical Nurse Educator Emergency role at South Metropolitan Health Service. This is a permanent appointment for full time or part time hours.

Fiona Stanley Hospital (FSH) is a 783-bed tertiary hospital offering a range of health services, including the State Rehabilitation Service, cancer centre, mental health unit, maternity, paediatric and neonatal services, and specialised services such as heart and lung transplantations and hyperbaric medicine. SMHS delivers quality, safe and effective hospital and health services across a catchment area over 3300 square kilometres in the southern half of Perth. Currently we are seeking a Clinical Nurse Educator to join our team. The successful applicant identifies strategies to promote and embed a learning culture that supports positive patient outcomes and a patient-centred service. They collaborate with the Unit Manager to develop and manage orientation and performance development programs to meet nursing/midwifery education and training needs within the unit. They collaborate with the Unit Manager to determine personal and professional competencies integral to care delivery. Under the direction of the Unit Manager, they oversee staff performance appraisal and development activities within the unit, and seek professional guidance from the Nurse Director - Education.
