The Nursing Unit Manager of the adult mental health inpatient unit is responsible for the efficient management of the nursing and other relevant staff under their delegation and coordination of the provision of nursing care.
The Nursing Unit Manager leads nursing staff, ensures effective liaison between all health professionals and is responsible for the environmental and work, health and safety management of the units.
Clinician engagement and leadership has been a prominent feature of the public health system for a number of years, where clinician led clinical standards, safety and quality improvements have become a major focus.
The Local Health District (LHD) is committed to the strengthening and ongoing involvement and clinician engagement of staff that provide direct patient care in the planning, delivery, improvement and evaluation of health services.
If you have :
Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) and a post graduate qualification in leadership / management and extensive clinical experience in mental health nursing
Extensive nursing management experience and demonstrated leadership skills within mental health, with the proven ability to create and maintain a positive workplace culture and articulate and achieve a vision for nursing services
Ability to effectively lead a nursing team within a complex multidisciplinary team environment, set priorities for services and establish and achieve agreed objectives
