Eligibility : Open to Everyone About the Role The Data Analyst is accountable to the Principal Adviser Intelligence and Analysis and works within the Strategic Improvement and South-East branch.
The role is responsible for maintaining the quality of the data collected by the Intelligence and Analysis team.
This includes liaising with industry to ensure all mass balance reporting requirements under the Environment Protection Regulations **** are met and that the data received is timely and accurate.
The role also works more broadly across the entire EPA and collaborates with compliance teams and others to better understand complex regulatory issues and emerging risks.
This is done by understanding organisational needs, performing technical data analysis and communicating outcomes.
To be successful in this role, you will have: Demonstrated experience and knowledge in spreadsheet and database management, programming language and data visualisation packages (preferably Power BI) to support data extraction and interpretation.
Ability to inform, negotiate and communicate effectively with a wide range of personnel from government and private organisations.
Ability to work independently under limited supervision and as a team member to achieve competing priorities within set timeframes.
Excellent written and oral communication skills and experience in delivering and presenting data analytic reports.

Desirable Qualifications, Knowledge or Experience Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Business Analytics, Mathematical Sciences/Statistics, Economics or related discipline.
Remuneration: ASO4 ($76,561 - $80,256) + 12% super added to your choice of super fund.
Contract Term contract (until 18 September ****) and full time (37.5 hours per week).
Special Conditions This role has been designated as a Position of Trust pursuant to the standards required in the Australian Government Protective Security Policy Framework.
A current National Police Clearance is essential.
The incumbent will occasionally be required to travel to sites in country areas and interstate.
The incumbent may be required to work out of hours and as the need arises.
