We are a self managed support service for the families son. The service provides 24hr supervision and other support as needed and operates on a ‘Participant-Owned Disability Service’ (PODS) model with families serving as members of the PODS and managing the service. Along with the client's family we are a close-knit team. We all work to provide the client with a variety of experiences to increase wellbeing, along with the best overall support to get the most out of life.
Qualifications & experience
Experience in the Disability industry is preferred
Completion of NDIS Safeguarding certificate
Working With Children Check
Transparent Criminal check
Tasks & responsibilities
Experience in personal care and manual handling
Carry out personal duties including assisting with showering, dressing, feeding, toileting, personal hygiene, transport, recreational activities.
Providing professional support to the individual and assist them to meet their goals and aspirations in life.
Carry out household duties including cleaning, shopping, meal preparation.
Maintain records and documentation as required (including case notes, communication books, incident reports, hazard and injury log etc
Support participant to remain connected to the significant people and places in their lives
Working within the principles of person-centered practices. Adhere to Health & Safety manuals and procedures.
Liaise with families, keeping them up to date with daily progress for their son
Ability to research and organise activities suitable for the participant to fully engage with society and maintain a sense of fun
Work within a small and supportive team
regular meetings as a team and 1-on-1 for effective communication
The role offers flexibility to hours worked (approx. 30-38 hours per week).
