About the School
Holroyd High School is a recently appointed HPGE Partnership School with a current enrolment of 558 students in Years 7–12, including 86% of students from non‐English speaking backgrounds. The school emphasizes explicit teaching, Choice Theory, and creates a safe and nurturing environment for all. The school has an Intensive English Centre and a support unit for students with intellectual disability and/or autism.
Selection Criteria
* Proven capacity to strategically lead whole school inclusive education initiatives for students with diverse learning, behavioural and wellbeing needs, including transition processes, trauma‐informed behaviour support, and collaborative practices that strengthen access, participation, engagement, and belonging for all students.
* Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills with demonstrated evidence to build positive, collaborative relationships with students, staff, families, external agencies and the broader school community to support student engagement, inclusion and wellbeing.
* Demonstrated capacity to effectively lead, mentor and manage a diverse team, including teachers and School Learning Support Officers, while fostering a collaborative culture of high expectations, professional growth and continuous improvement.
* Demonstrated instructional leadership in High Potential and Gifted Education (HPGE), including the capacity to lead differentiated curriculum, enrichment opportunities and inclusive talent development practices that support high expectations for all learners.
General Selection Criteria
* Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice.
* Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs.
* Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams.
* Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents.
* Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning.
* Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy.
