This role sits within a high-performing civil engineering team delivering wastewater infrastructure projects across Western Australia.
The position is centred on the engineering design of wastewater pump stations and associated pipeline systems, with a strong focus on hydraulic performance, compliance, and buildability. Working closely with designers and drafters, the role bridges detailed design and engineering oversight to ensure all outputs meet stringent utility authority standards.
With involvement from concept through to construction support, this role offers exposure to technically complex projects that are critical to supporting WA's growing communities.
Key Responsibilities
* Undertake engineering design and hydraulic modelling for wastewater pump stations, rising mains, and sewer networks.
* Perform detailed hydraulic calculations and prepare technical engineering reports for approvals.
* Review and guide design outputs to ensure accuracy, functionality, and compliance.
* Work closely with designers and drafters to deliver coordinated, buildable solutions.
* Ensure all designs align with Australian Standards and WA utility authority requirements.
* Liaise with clients and stakeholders to resolve technical queries and challenges.
* Provide engineering input during construction, including assessment of site-based design changes.
What You'll Bring
* 5+ years' experience as a Civil or Hydraulic Engineer within the water/utilities sector.
* Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) with a strong hydraulic focus.
* Proficiency in 12d Model and 12d Drains to review and support design development.
* Strong understanding of pump station design, reticulation systems, and civil interfaces.
* Detail-oriented with a practical approach to engineering and problem-solving.
* Confident communicator, able to engage with internal teams and external stakeholders.
