HumeLink West Project Two CIMIC Group companies, UGL and CPB Contractors have been selected by Transgrid to deliver the 130km western section of the HumeLink high voltage electricity transmission project. HumeLink is a new 500kV transmission project which will connect Wagga Wagga, Maragle and Bannaby in regional NSW that will significantly increase the capacity of the electricity network in Australia's eastern states. HumeLink is one of Australia's largest energy infrastructure projects, with about 365kms of proposed new transmission lines and a range of other new and upgraded infrastructure. The HumeLink West scope of works, worth $1.5bn, includes delivery of new 500Kv double circuit transmission lines spanning 130kms from Wagga Wagga Substation to a new Substation at Gugaa, the Interface Point with HumeLink East near Gundagai and a new substation at Maragle in the Snowy Mountains for future connection to Snowy 2.0.
We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager – Substations to join our team based on site on a FIFO roster.
What will a day in this role look like
* Plan, lead, and control construction activities to deliver projects safely, on time, within budget, and to required quality standards.
* Coordinate resources and teams to ensure sufficient labour, plant, and subcontractors, while monitoring progress and performance.
* Integrate project functions by working closely with engineering, procurement, logistics, quality, and document control to support efficient construction delivery.
* Ensure safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance by enforcing HSSE standards, workplace laws, environmental licence conditions, and record‐keeping requirements.
* Manage stakeholder relationships by liaising with clients, supporting employee relations, maintaining project data, and completing ad‐hoc tasks as required.
Qualifications and experience

* You will have extensive Construction Management experience working within the utilities infrastructure sectors specifically on Greenfield or Brownfield substation environments.
* You will have a strong understanding and knowledge of construction principles on all associated construction works including foundations, structures and access tracks.
* You will have a high level of business and commercial acumen backed by a sound ability to create, read, and interpret budgets, financial statements and analyse variance reports.
* Tertiary Engineering qualification or relevant industry trade background desired.
