Job Description
* Manage the fortnightly payroll cycle across permanent, casual, and contract employees
* Interpret and apply Enterprise Bargaining Agreements (EBAs) to ensure correct payment of entitlements and allowances
* Maintain accurate employee payroll data, including updates to roles, deductions, and classifications
* Review and validate timesheet data
* Calculate payroll tax obligations, superannuation, and statutory contributions
* Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies and respond to employee queries
* Partner with internal stakeholders, including site-based teams, to ensure accurate reporting of hours worked
* Ensure all payroll-related payments (super, PAYG, etc.) are processed accurately and on time
Successful Payroll Specialist Should Have
* A proven track record in a similar end-to-end payroll position
* Confident in interpreting EBAs and modern awards
* Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation and compliance requirements
* Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Excel
* Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills
* Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines
* Excellent communication skills to liaise with internal and external stakeholders
