The Opportunity
We're looking for a Transport Network Planning Engineer to provide expert advice that keeps our transport network safe and efficient.
In this role, you'll contribute to safety planning, assess risks, and support infrastructure projects, while working closely with stakeholders across government. It's a great opportunity to apply your engineering expertise, make a real impact on the transport network, and collaborate with a team committed to quality and safety.
About You
You're an analytical and confident transport professional who can turn complex information into clear, practical advice. You work well independently and in teams, manage priorities effectively, and make informed decisions under pressure. With strong communication skills and up-to-date transport planning knowledge, you value collaboration, continuous improvement, and delivering high-quality outcomes. Experience in complex projects and mentoring others is a plus.
Educational Qualifications / Licenses
* A Degree in Engineering providing eligibility for membership as a Professional Engineer of the Institution of Engineers, Australia is essential.
* Current Drivers Licence is desirable.
Special Conditions
* A National Police Check (NPC) is required prior to employment with the Department for Infrastructure and Transport which must be renewed every three years.
* Some out of hours and weekend work, along with some intra/interstate travel requiring overnight stays, may be required.
