About the school

The School of Law & Business aims to deliver a career-focused education that will equip you with the practical skills and knowledge required to adapt and excel in the highly competitive worlds of law and business. The school offers undergraduate and postgraduate degree courses in the Accounting, Economics & Finance disciplines as well as research-based doctoral degrees.

About the role

This role involves making a significant contribution to the activities of the organisational unit or interdisciplinary area, while playing a key role within the relevant profession or discipline. Academic staff at this level are recognised for their distinction in their disciplinary area and their ability to contribute meaningfully to teaching, research, and service.

Key Responsibilities
* Deliver and facilitate teaching activities including lectures, tutorials, workshops, practicals, and field or clinical sessions.
* Develop, coordinate, and review curriculum and programs of study, including course leadership responsibilities.
* Provide leadership for the program and campus-level staff. Supervise honours and postgraduate students, including research projects and coursework programs.
* Conduct and lead research initiatives, contributing to the advancement of the discipline and professional practice.
* Undertake marking, assessment, and provide academic guidance through consultation with students.
* Contribute to high level administrative functions and participate in departmental and faculty meetings.
Qualifications, skills & experience
* PhD or equivalent qualification and membership of either CPA or CAANZ or equivalent, with significant experience in the relevant discipline.
* Proven teaching experience and expertise in financial accounting and/or audit in an undergraduate program, as well as accounting in a postgraduate capacity.
* Additional experience in teaching tax accounting and/or tax law would be an advantage, as would current or previous registration as a tax agent.
* Demonstrated academic excellence through outstanding contributions to teaching and/or research and/or professional practice.
* Proven teaching and research experience, reflecting the ability to deliver high-quality academic outcomes.
* Relevant experience beyond tertiary education, evidence of creative, professional, or technical achievements contributing to the advancement of the discipline.
