We are a growing business entering an exciting phase of expansion, and we are seeking a highly capable Part‐time Management Accountant to help us build a more sophisticated and robust financial management function.
You will work closely with leadership to strengthen reporting, analysis, and financial decision-making across the business. Therefore we are not looking to train at this level, we need someone who can step in with confidence and experience.
As a hands‐on collaborative team, we're looking for someone who is approachable, adaptable and willing to contribute across the broader finance function, assisting with administration and bookkeeping tasks if required.
This role may suit someone with significant experience looking to continue their career in a part‐time capacity while still contributing at a senior and commercially focused level, or alternatively a candidate with 3+ years post‐graduate experience already operating as a management accountant. For the right person, there is genuine scope for the role to grow over time as the business expands, potentially into a more senior leadership position, however, we are equally comfortable with someone who is seeking a stable, long‐term part‐time role and is not necessarily looking for career progression at that level.
Responsibilities
* Daily Bank Reconciliations
* Cash Flow Management – Monitor daily bank balances and maintain a 13‐week rolling cash flow forecast
* Accounts Payable/Receivable – Oversee the processing of supplier invoices and ensure progress claims are issued to head contractors on time
* Monthly Management Reporting, including detailed project and company specific analysis
* BAS & Regulatory Filing
* WIP (Work in Progress) Valuation – Calculate monthly WIP to ensure revenue is recognised accurately
* Debt Collection – Ensure outstanding debtors are received in a timely manner
* Budgeting & Forecasting – Lead the production of the annual company budget, including preparation of all working papers
* Year‐End & Audit – Prepare the year‐end file for the external tax accountant
* Insurance & Renewals
* Administration, bookkeeping and payroll (if required)
Qualifications
* Minimum 3+ years post‐graduate experience in a similar role or anything in between and experienced and trained beyond 10 years +
* Administration, payroll and bookkeeping experience
* Advanced Excel skills
* Advanced MYOB experience (essential)
* Simpro experience would be highly regarded
* Strong communication and commercial acumen with the ability to clearly present financial information
* Exceptional attention to detail and a proactive approach
* Confidence operating at a management accounting level, not just transactional accounting
* Proven experience within a trade, construction, or similar operational environment
