About the Role

This ongoing full‑time position is based in Ballarat. The Roadside Delivery Lead plays a pivotal role in the successful execution of the VRMC Grampians contract, acting as a key driver of operational performance, stakeholder engagement and strategic oversight in relation to the roadside and environment. The position is central to ensuring effective delivery of routine roadside maintenance services across the Grampians region, with direct accountability for managing the annual programme. The Lead will manage a diverse portfolio of works, addressing emerging issues, driving continuous improvement, and delivering value‑for‑money outcomes for all stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities

* Lead the end‑to‑end planning, development, and execution of roadside maintenance programmes, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to required quality standards.
* Build and maintain strong, productive relationships with contractor representatives, fostering transparency, accountability, and high performance.
* Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, including local councils, government agencies, and community representatives.
* Drive a culture of continuous improvement by identifying and implementing initiatives that enhance service delivery, operational efficiency, and safety performance.
* Provide strategic insights and reporting to management and relevant authorities, offering recommendations that support contract performance, risk mitigation, and programme optimisation.

* Build strong stakeholder relationships by adding value, linking relevant parties, and constructively addressing issues.
* Manage difficult conversations through negotiation, problem‑solving, and coaching others.
* Apply critical thinking to resolve problems, interpret guidelines, and make informed decisions aligning with organisational values, ethics, legal obligations and stakeholder priorities.
* Support effective project delivery by coordinating tasks, monitoring progress, and applying commercial awareness to manage costs, engage vendors efficiently and achieve agreed outcomes.

Qualifications and Experience

Mandatory : Experience relevant to the capabilities of the role.

Desirable : Tertiary qualification in a relevant or related discipline.
