About the role
We are looking for skilled High Voltage (HV) Electricians wanting to join our Power Supply team at Boyne Smelter, Gladstone. You will join an essential & critical part of the Power infrastructure Team at BSL, maintaining constant power supply to the entire operation. Reporting to the Maintenance Team Leader and working a 9‐day fortnight roster, your role may involve:
* Maintaining high voltage assets, infrastructure, and distribution systems.
* Operating the high voltage assets to ensure continuity of electrical supply to Boyne Smelter.
* Identifying root causes of breakdowns.
* Participating in high voltage switching procedures.
* Liaising with external power providers.
* Working effectively both within a team and independently.
What you'll bring
* A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team.
* High Voltage industrial experience.
* An Australian 'A' grade Electrical licence.
* Experience working on overhead networks, transformers & switching.
* A High Voltage Isolation and Access (HVIA) certificate is desirable.

Where you'll be working
Boyne Smelters (Boyne Smelters Limited) is Australia's second‐largest aluminium smelter, located approximately 20km southeast of Gladstone at Boyne Island on the Central Queensland coast, producing around 500,000 tonnes of aluminium per annum. The smelter is connected via a conveyor belt to the Queensland Alumina Limited refinery for the supply of alumina.
