Academic Position in Indigenous Knowledge and Education
You will contribute to the academic teaching and research goals of a Faculty by delivering high-quality education, advancing research in Indigenous Knowledge and Education, and fostering strong partnerships with First Nation communities.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lecturing with language and culture teaching programs within a Faculty, particularly in Indigenous Knowledge and Indigenous Education.
* Leading initiatives that support the development and delivery of innovative programs through a First Nations Teacher Education Hub.
* Curriculum development and community engagement to ensure culturally responsive and aligned educational offerings with the needs and aspirations of First Nation communities.
About You
To be successful, you require:
1. A Higher Degree by Research or coursework Master in a relevant discipline and/or relevant professional experience in the fields of Indigenous Knowledge and Indigenous Education or ability to enroll in Research or Masters coursework.
2. Demonstrated knowledge of current Indigenous social, cultural, political, and economic issues, particularly about Indigenous education and the application of this knowledge in current contexts locally, nationally, and internationally.
3. Demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively and independently to sustain high-level performance, prioritisation, and work under pressure.
4. An emerging research profile of publications/research projects or progress towards a research plan.
5. Demonstrated capacity and commitment to undertake research related to Indigenous Knowledge and Indigenous Education.
6. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a demonstrated understanding of a university learning environment and equity programs and providing supportive education to people from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds and varying age groups.
7. Demonstrated high-level competencies and proven ability to teach specialisations in relation to Indigenous Knowledge and Indigenous Education; and the ability to manage unit (subject) teaching in internal and distance education modes, including through online platforms.
8. Demonstrated knowledge and application of current digital literacies development and practices in education. The ability to represent the University at a range of forums and to liaise, communicate, negotiate, and collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and partners to deliver a valued service and achieve agreed outcomes.
9. Demonstrated capability to develop curriculum using the Australian Qualifications Framework and create 21st-century learning experiences for higher education students.
10. Excellent professional teamwork and communication skills, including oral, written, information communication technology (ICT), and interpersonal skills.
11. Demonstrated experience working with First Nations Language and Culture Education in the NT.
