About the Role

As part of the Publishing Insights and Markets team you will work alongside data engineers, scientists, and analysts in Asia and globally, to perform quantitative analysis of internal and external data sets and play an important role in the building and maintenance of statistical and ML models that can be used to recommend actions that improve player experiences. You will help identify opportunities that exist in our important markets, create a better understanding on what drives player and market behaviors, analyze data and build trend detection tools/dashboards to help EA reach our future ambitions.


Key Responsibilities

* Expand, enhance, and maintain existing segmentation models to create customer personas for our priority games and markets
* Expand, enhance, and maintain existing forecasting models to provide direction of expected behaviors and performance in the marketplace
* Perform thorough testing and validation of models to maintain accuracy of output
* Explore first and third-party datasets to conduct quantitative analysis that identifies relevant metrics and surfaces unseen trends to help inform decisions for the team
* Work with analysts to align data science outputs to business requirements and contribute to the automation of distributed reports using these data science outputs
* Write and maintain documentation for assigned models and pipelines
* Proactively learn new tools and technologies in the data, ML, and AI space
* Participate in group discussions and contribute to the overall improvement of the team’s ways of working


Requirements

* Tertiary Education in the field of Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience
* 2+ years or more experience in a data science role with experience using programming languages like python or R
* Understanding of statistical and ML fundamentals and statistical modelling techniques which are commonly used, and understanding of their trade-offs
* Familiarity with SQL and working with databases
* Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Looker, Tableau
* Strong problem-solving and communication skills


Nice to have

* Familiarity with EA games, similar games, or gaming in general
* Experience with machine learning or statistical models applied in a variety of commercial environments
* Good sense of best practices including the effective use of code repositories
* Experience with libraries such as pandas, scikit-learn, or TensorFlow
* Understanding of agile methodologies
