Townsville Orthodontic Specialists is a Specialist Orthodontic Practice located in Townsville, with a passion for patient care. This position comes with very attractive employment conditions and includes onsite training.
About the Role
As a Lab Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting our orthodontic team by maintaining lab workflows, preparing appliances, and ensuring clinical materials are organised and ready for patient treatment.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities
* Pouring, trimming, and preparing orthodontic models
* Fabricating retainers and orthodontic appliances
* Organising and maintaining lab equipment and supplies
* Assisting with digital scans, impressions, and appliance preparation
* Ensuring the laboratory area remains clean, organised, and efficient
* Supporting orthodontists and clinical staff with day‐to‐day laboratory needs
* Maintaining accurate records of lab work and appliance schedules
Skills and experience
* Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
* A positive attitude and willingness to learn
* Ability to work efficiently in a fast‐paced environment
* Ability to work well unsupervised
* Good manual dexterity and hands‐on skills
* Strong teamwork and communication abilities
* High level computer skills/ experience including use of Microsoft Office
* Previous dental or orthodontic experience preferred, but not essential (training can be provided)
* Class C driver's license
* Year 12 certificate or equivalent
* Medical or Dental experience desirable
Job benefits and perks
* 5 weeks annual leave per year (Please note: this is one additional week of paid leave compared to the standard four weeks of paid annual leave entitlement)
* Four day working week (37 hours per week) which equates to one weekday RDO every week
