The Shift Process Controller role is critical in controlling the operation of the Berrima clinker and cement manufacturing plant, enabling the despatch of product in order to meet predetermined targets for output, quality, cost, environment, WH&S, plant availability and customer satisfaction. Based in the control room and accountable for the safety of high capital value production equipment, this position reports to the Shift Superintendent and works a 12 hour rotating shift. Your day will involve:
* Supervise and operate plant and conveying systems at targeted outputs, planned efficiency levels and environmental performance levels according to Quality Assurance procedures.
* Take appropriate corrective actions to control product quality as per quality parameters.
* Respond to plant alarms and conditions in a prompt and efficient manner and reporting the plant faults.
* Aid in problem solving and plant improvements by thorough investigation of plant faults and accurate reporting.
* Operate, shutdown and isolate plant to ensure the safety of both personnel and plant.
* Direct shift maintenance personnel to ensure the short-term availability of the plant.
* Direct movement of raw materials and finished product to the appropriate storage areas.
* Trouble shoot and take remedial corrective action to minimise plant down time and ensure quality and operational parameters are met across all shifts.
* Recommend changes in operating procedures, set point controls and control loop logic.
What are we looking for?
* Trade Certificate/Diploma in a Technical field (e.g. engineering, chemistry) or Bachelor Degree in Chemical Engineering.
* Ability to work under pressure in a team environment and show flexibility.
* Computer literacy is essential whilst and a detailed understanding of control systems will be highly regarded.
* Ideally demonstrated experience in all aspects of the production process, plant operation and process control.
