About the Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled Business Development Manager to join our team and drive business growth. This is an exciting opportunity to work in Australia's Defence environment and support national security requirements.
Key Responsibilities
* Pioneer business development activities and initiatives to achieve business growth.
* Liaise and oversee bid teams to ensure deadlines are met and opportunities progressed to submission with strong probability of success.
* Prepare business professionals and support contract negotiations for allocated key captures when down-selected.
* Build a well-defined and qualified pipeline of opportunities aligned with the Defence strategy.
* Manage opportunities from initial identification, strategy development, and pursuit management through to tender preparation and contract negotiation.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field, such as engineering, marketing, or management.
* Proven business development experience in Defence or Defence-related fields.
* Excellent communication skills, strong negotiation and influencing skills, and ability to establish effective relationships at different levels internally and externally.
* Strong people management and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to conduct competitor and market analysis, ensuring awareness of any changes that may impact successful achievement of Defence Strategy and Business development objectives.
